Overview
GlowApp is an AI beauty app for iOS. People can try hairstyles and hair colors on their own photo, preview nails and makeup, and get structured face and skin analysis.
The problem
Changing your hair or style is a commitment, and it's hard to picture the result from a photo of someone else.
The approach
Start from the user's own photo and keep every feature in the same pattern: choose a photo, choose a style or an analysis, get a result.
The home screen acts as a hub, so new features fit into a flow people already know.
Engineering
As the catalog grew, the work shifted from adding features to keeping the system easy to extend.
E.01
Style packs with stable IDs
Styles moved from loose JSON and string matching to runtime style packs with stable identifiers, which makes new categories safer to add.
E.02
Provider fallback
Generation prefers one AI provider and falls back to another if it fails, so a single outage doesn't take down the core feature.
E.03
One flow for every analysis
Face analysis, skin insights and skin routine run through one shared job flow, each with structured results and a dedicated result screen.
My role
Mobile product development, user experience implementation, AI feature integration, application flows, and release preparation.
Outcome
An iOS app that brings hairstyles, hair colors, nails, makeup and analysis together in one consistent experience, with store listings prepared in several languages.
